Enthronement
Enthronement is a ceremony for the young lama to officially renounce lay life and enter into the monastery where he belongs to. It is a ceremony consisting of various prayers and blessings from the young lama.
The Enthronement Celebration for Tulku Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche was held on the 3rd March 2006 in Kopan Monastery.
More than 3,000 people attended the celebration, the VIP guest lists included Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Kyen Rinpoche Lama Lundrup, Dari Rinpoche, Kangsar Rinpoche, Serkong Rinpoche, Drukpa Rinpoche, Gyelek Gyatso Rinpoche, Cherok Rinpoche, Chophel Rinpoche Rigzin Rinpoche and many others.
On the 2nd March there was a Welcome Dinner at Kopan Monastery for all the VIP and guests.
The Enthronement Day was help on the 3rd March, the celebration included:
- Inviting the Incarnation in procession from the Family Home to the Monastery.
- Paying Respect to the Abbot of the Monastery.
- Entering the Monastery followed by Enthronement ceremony.
- Offering of Mandala to the incarnation by the Monastery.
- Puja with auspicious prayers.
- Auspicious prayers by the assembly of monks.
- Public blessing ceremony.
- Offering of Cham dance by the monks.
- Offering of 21 Tara Dance by nuns.
Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche sat through the entire celebration, he was not surprise with the numbers of people that attended the event. While he was conduction public blessing for all the guests he was able to multi-tasks. blessing the guest and playing with his new toys that was offered to him.
From the 4th to the 5th March, Tenzin Phunstok Rinpoche and many student were on a Pilgrimage to Holy Places, the places they visited were:
- Pharping Guru Rinpoche Cave
- Tara Temple
- Vajrayogini Temple
- Pilgrimage to Most Holy Stupas of Boudhanath and Svoyambuhnath
During the Enthronment celebration, Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave Long Life Initation for Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche and all the guests. Khen Rinpoche Lama Lundrup gave oral tranmission on the Three Principle Aspect of the Path.
